How to get to Little Corn Island

 

Getting to Little Corn Island is easier than you think.

Little Corn Island is a small island in the Caribbean side of Nicaragua. First of all, you need to get to Managua, that is the capital city of Nicaragua.

Once you get to Managua, there are two ways to get the the Island, one is flying and the other is by bus and boat.

 

By Air

Next to the international terminal of the airport Augusto C. Sandino of Managua, there is the domestic flights terminal. You can book your ticket with your flight from Managua to Corn Island and return with us from GET YOUR TICKET section. (Choose this option at check out, like this, you'll be supporting us to get an sponsorship, to get the artists to the festival.)

Once you get Corn Island, you’ll need to take a taxi from the airport to the main wharf, this ride has a price of US$1pp

At the wharf, there will be a boat that will take you to the Little Corn Island in 20 minutes, the price for this boat ride is $6 pp.

Once you get to the Island, there will be all kind of helpers to guide you to the different hotels on the island for a reasonable tip!

By bus and boat

You can also get to the island by land and sea, taking a bus from Managua at the Mercado Mayoreo Terminal, there are buses at 9.15am, 11.15am, 5pm, 8.30pm and at 11.20pm from Managua to Bluefields everyday. The price for the ticket is around $10pp. (this ride takes around 8 hours)

There are boats every Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9am to Corn Island from Bluefields's wharf, the ticket costs $12pp and the ride takes around 6hours.

From Corn Island, take a boat to Little Corn Island at 10.30am in the morning and at 1.30pm in the afternoon.

Once you get to the Island, there will be all kind of helpers to guide you to the different hotels on the island for a reasonable tip!
